The next meeting of the Captiva Community Panel is set for Tuesday, March 13, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Cone Rooms on Chadwicks Square at South Seas Island Resort. This meeting is open to all interested islanders and the public.
Among the agenda items will be an update on the Captiva Code efforts and the Coastal Construction Setback Line changes, plus committee reports and update from other island organizations.
At 10 a.m., the third community input workshop will be held, focusing on Transportation, Traffic, Road and Parking Issues, including:
- Speeding on Captiva Drive
- Children driving Golf Carts
- Blind Pass Bridge fishing rules
- Illegal parking problems in high seasons
- Gas-powered carts after 10 pm
- Transition to electric golf carts
- Loud music on rental golf carts
- Unauthorized car and golf carts driving down and parking on private streets and private lots
- Garbage and recycle cans left on the streets
- Road kill (dead rabbits) left on streets
The panel meeting will continue following the community workshop if necessary. The next Captiva Community Panel meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 10 in the Cone Room at South Seas Island Resort, Captiva
